YES YES YES

In 2019 Yes Yes Yes smashed the Randwick 1200m track record in The Everest sprint

Yes Yes Yes, foaled in September 2016, is a retired Australian Champion thoroughbred sprinter. Yes Yes Yes is widely recognised for his exceptional triumph in the esteemed $14 million The Everest Sprint - the richest horse race in the Southern Hemisphere. His remarkable achievements have resulted in earnings surpassing an impressive $7 million dollars. Yes Yes Yes was acquired by Darren Weir Racing/John Foote Bloodstock for $200,000 at the Magic Millions yearling sale. As a co-owner, Brae Sokolski had established a financial plan, and were fortunate that the other party ceased their bidding when they reached their predetermined limit. Sokolski purchased a 50% share in the yearling with Weir syndicating the remaining 50% to clients.

The young sprint star is a son of Rubick, himself a Gold Coast Yearling Sale purchase. Rubick won the Gr.3 Blue Diamond Prelude and the Gr.2 MRC Schillaci Stakes. Yes Yes Yes is from a Fantastic Light mare in Sin Sin Sin.

Yes Yes Yes made his debut at Moonee Valley on 1st December 2018, where he ran on well for a second. A fortnight later, he won his first race, where after settling near the rear of the field, he came through powerfully between horses inside the final 200m. Trainer Darren Weir was then considering entering the Magic Millions Classic, believing the horse possessed the right attitude and ability. The riches of January’s Magic Millions lured the horse to Queensland, however connections of the young star scratched Yes Yes Yes on the eve of the race after floating him north, and he was sent to the spelling paddock.

In February 2019, trainer Darren Weir was banned for four years for the use of taser-like devices on his horses to improve performance. Yes Yes Yes was transferred to top Sydney trainer, Chris Waller. After a trial in February 2019, Yes Yes Yes resumed in the Gr.2 Todman Stakes in March. Running last at the final bend, he won the race by half a length. As expected, Yes Yes Yes went on to the Golden Slipper, finishing seventh on a heavy track. After a long spell, Yes Yes Yes had two trials in August. In September he raced in the Gr.2 The Run to the Roses and the Gr.1 Golden Rose, finishing second behind Bivouac in each event.

In 2019, Yes Yes Yes was successful in The Everest at Randwick Racecourse. He entered the $14m ATC The Everest as the youngest horse in the field. Ridden by veteran jockey Glen Boss he won the world’s richest turf race by half a length in a track record time at odds of 8/1, defeating Santa Ana Lane, with Trekking 3rd. It was not a fait accompli that the colt would even get a start on 19 October. Sokoloski worked tirelessly behind the scenes in the weeks leading up to the race to convince Waller to allow the star 3YO a right to the slot; Waller in turn convinced Coolmore Australia to run the young horse. Yes Yes Yes raced in the slot of Chris Waller Racing and the master horseman was thrilled with the track record breaking win.

By the close of Spring, Yes Yes Yes had had just 8 starts for 4 wins and 3 seconds for $7,174,450 in career earnings. As a stallion prospect he was conservatively valued at $50m. Not a bad return from that initial $200,000. Yes Yes Yes was given a Timeform Rating of 125 following his Everest win and he smashed the track record, running 1:07.32 which still stands today. Yes Yes Yes was retired to stud duties at Coolmore Stud in February 2020 after sustaining a tendon injury. His initial stallion service fee was listed as a fair A$38,500. He is considered one of the few horses we feature in the 'Champions of the Turf' series to compete in less then 10 races. Hitotsu and Farnan featured also ran eight and few others less.
